With summer vacation just around the corner, spending time in the water doesn’t need to mean risking sun hurt to your skin. Girls4Sport new summer line of sun-protective swimwear is now available for girls of all ages. Stay sun safe this summer with SPF-rated swimwear

“Most of the one million skin cancer cases diagnosed each year are due to unprotected ultraviolet radiation (UV) exposure,” said Kim Ruby, president of Girls4Sport, which designs and manufacturers sun-protective swimwear for women and children. “But protecting skin from the sun’s UV rays can be a challenge at the beach or the pool because even waterproof sunscreens can wear off and need to be re-applied. Taking more proactive measures such as avoiding the midday sun and wearing sun protective clothing and hats are vital to preventing the development of skin cancer.”

Girls4Sport’s line of hip, surf-inspired swimwear for women and children provide the maximum sun protection rating of UPF 50+, which blocks at least 98% of UVA and UVB rays. The line features rashguard tops — which were originally designed for surfing — provide full protection for women’s and girls’ chests, backs, shoulders and arms. The coordinating swim bottoms, skirts, boardshorts, capri pants and full-length pants provide additional coverage. All of the fabrics have been professionally tested and rated using the AATCC Test Method 183-200.

Girls4Sport’s 2007 summer swimwear collection for women features bold retro graphics and urban-inspired avant-garde prints in hues of pink, brown, navy and lime green. The toddler and youth collections feature fun flower prints in candy apple reds and princess pinks. The lines are available at boutiques and surf shops across the country and online at http://www.girls4sport.com.
